This project was a collaborative work done by myself and Lori Galenic at McMaster University in 2003. It was created using a 1/2 life-size scale business suit that was resin cast and then built entirely of Post-it notes. On each post it we wrote down typical reminders that someone would leave themselves in a “Day in the life”. Obvious reference is made to Rodin’s thinker in that great contemplation is required for any successful entrepreneurial activity in the contemporary commercial environment. Some of the challenges were the limited colors offered by the post it notes at the time, mainly of the neon variety, but I think we managed to come up with an effective combination encompassing the ideas of presentation, solidity, and contemplation. The work was presented at the 3M provincial notable art competition in Toronto and won first runner-up.
