I developed this work in response to a conversation I had with one of my relatives. She said to me “I could never be an artist, I can’t even draw a straight line”. I am certain that this phrase is a common thought. It occured to me that I also cannot draw a straight line, and so, I set out to design a robot to do this for me. I thought that while I’m at it, I might as well create a painting robot to do all of my painting for me. Of course, this was a failure, and what I discovered is that there is no such thing as a straight line (the text seen on the paper posted on the easel in the image below). In fact, the “perfect” thing is unimaginable because of the limitations of our mind.
