I love designing software, its like building a part of my mind or an extension of my body
Any stock photographer nowadays will tell you that one of the biggest challenges of stock photography is dealing with the images after they’ve been taken. Key wording images, organizing images, uploading images and dealing with the various networks can be a daunting task. I was quite certain that because of the scale of the stock photography industry there would be an appropriate tool out there available to stock photographers to help them with these various tasks.
I quickly learned that there was actually no tool available at all. So I decided to design my own software. Using the advantageous programming environments of Visual Studio.net, I compiled this series of tools using VB script. As you can see from the screenshots on the left, the software is capable a great many things. Not only does this software help you pick out the best images but it automatically categorizes all images into a detailed database. From there you can use my advanced key wording tools to write one sentence which then is automatically converted into keywords that are most searched on all of the popular stock photo websites.
This tool can even spell check, provides synonyms and FTP the final images to a variety of popular stock photo websites.
I have also designed this tool to have a built in IPTC metadata editor. This means that all of the title, keyword and category descriptions are attached directly to the metadata of the JPEG file and most stock photo websites are IPTC compliant. Essentially this eliminates the problem of having to re-key word images once they have been uploaded to the various stock photo websites.
